Lisa came to Minnesota from New Hampshire in order to attend Macalester College. After graduating in 1990, she worked primarily as an administrator for non-profits with an emphasis on community organizing. These positions introduced her to bookkeeping and payroll. To her surprise, she discovered a knack for it. More importantly, she enjoys it. Over time, her task responsibilities came to focus on the accounting function.
Working with Lottsa feels like an excellent fit. Prior to joining Lottsa, Lisa had been a tax client for years, so she has been aware of the company’s commitment to client service along with its sense of social responsibility. She is excited to be part of both. She began with us in 2006, and we’re thrilled that she’ll be back for a 15th year in 2021!
Lisa is on the front line for many individual income tax returns. She organizes the materials that clients provide and makes copies as needed. She does the initial entry work of W-2s, 1099s, and 1098s, and sometimes works the return to completion. Often she can identify omissions in the information that the client has provided and can request that of them before the Reviewer gets to the file in its turn, making it quicker, easier, and cheaper to process.
Besides this job, her “other” life is at home and with family. She met her husband Brian at Macalester and they have a son and daughter (twins). They live in St Paul’s Highland neighborhood. She and Brian have three sets of parents between them and they share the experience of being first generation Americans — both of their moms were born in Europe.
